Salaam, and welcome to our very own Ahlulbayt Bulletin Committee! We are very excited to finally introduce everyone. I’ve asked everyone to answer a few fun questions to introduce themselves.
Zahra Gokal
Describe yourself
Salaam everyone! I’m a junior at University of Houston studying journalism & creative writing. I love learning about different cultures and I’m very interested in psychology. I hope to travel the world someday and experience everything there is to experience Inshallah.
What is something you can do to help the Last Imam (as)?
One thing I can do to help the Imam (as) is to help others in any way I can.
What’s something special you and your friends do together?
Something special my friends and I do together is go on mundane trips to the grocery store. It feels like we’re living together.

I am a University of Houston alumni and I graduated with a Supply Chain management degree. I love socializing and helping people around me. Adventurous trips are something that excite me.
What is something you can do to help the Last Imam (as)?
Just try to be as honest as I can be so that I can stay loyal to him and stand by him when he needs me.
What’s your favorite thing about your parents?
My parents are my pillars of strength. The way they stand by me when no else does is something I will forever be grateful to them.

I am a University of Houston - Downtown student. I can call myself sophomore/junior. My major is Data Science. My interests are: I like coffee and I like to meet new people and learn about their cultures. And after this I am trying to find out myself what my interests are.
What is something you can do to help the Last Imam (as)?
First I would learn from him and help in any way I can and put my best effort.

Whenever we are free, my friends and I play cricket

My name is Ali Gokal. I am a 17-year-old senior at Clements High School and serve as a writer for the ABSO newsletter. I hope to study management in the future.
What is something you can do to help the Last Imam (as)?
Something I can do to help the last Imam is spreading his message by representing his name through charity and other humanitarian work.
What’s your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is swimming in the waters of Thailand with my cousins as a kid. It’s one memory that I’ll always cherish throughout life.

Salam everyone, my name is Dua. I’m a Junior and I’m majoring in English Literature. In my free time you might find me writing, doing sudoku puzzles, or simply lost in my thought!
What is something you can do to help the Last Imam (as)?
Work on improving my own habits, actions, and character.
What’s your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is going out after dark to watch the fireflies in the trees near my home :)

What is something you can do to help the Last Imam (as)?
I think whatever we can do. Just showing good manners is helping the Imam.
What’s your favorite childhood memory? What’s your favorite book and why? Who is your hero? What’s your favorite family tradition? What’s something special you and your friends do together?
I don’t think I can choose a favorite childhood memory but one that sticks out is when my sister and I were throwing a watermelon like a ball. I can’t choose a book, but if I had to: One book I am really into is The Poppy War. Bibi Zainab is my hero, because look at what she has accomplished. Favorite family tradition is winter break vacation. One special thing I like to do with my friends is to go to the movies.

I'm a senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Nutrition. Some of my interests are literature, art, and travel!
What is something you can do to help the Last Imam (as)?
Take care of the people around you. Try to be in service of humanity, especially those who are the lovers of Imam Mahdi. If you think someone is struggling with anything, try to reach out and do what you can to help. Sometimes all people need is for someone to listen.
What’s your favorite book and why?
So hard to choose a favorite! But definitely one of my favorites would have to be Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I just love the chaos and how absolutely unhinged every single one of the characters are lol. It's honestly so dramatic and I just loved every second of it. It's a classic for a reason.
